Roots is a table that embraces Inclusion, designed in collaboration with Plumpsheep for a design competition about diversity, equity, and inclusion with Gensler. It is designed to encourage interaction within our varied communities and introduce respect and a sense of togetherness.

The design of the table has been made in a way to keeps it resilient to its surroundings. The transportation factor was considered, and that is why the making of the table will be divided into two parts, to make it easier to translate from one place to another, trying to reduce its carbon footprint on the environment.

Everyone has a different style of working or interacting with each other. That is why Roots has varying widths and heights. This piece can be situated anywhere that needs human integration. Whether it is at the workplace, school, or outdoors, it is designed to achieve the interconnection and inclusion of people.
There are many reasons behind the name "Roots". Firstly, it represents a base to link several entities. For example, in nature, the source of connection between plants is the roots, via nutrients and chemical reactions. Likewise, in the modern world, it is a technology that creates a connection between people. Roots are generally in multiples, entangled, and look like it causes disruption; but finally, it is considered one of the most important modes of connectivity.

Roots was competing in Gensler's DEI 2022 Competition and proudly got to be one of the 5 winner projects. Project Roots will be soon produced by Plumsheep on a 1:1 scale and exhibited at Gensler Dubai.
