Poli Flyer

An object that attracts and protects birds, while provoking pollination. Whilst analyzing the components of our urban environment, you cannot help but notice birds. They are always there, some may consider them annoying, peaceful, or even dangerous. But little do we know about what they can do for us. Birds act as natural pollinators, and there are multiple ways to use them respectfully for everyone's benefit. With this project, we pitch a solution that will naturally repopulate both flora and fauna species even in an urban area.

Poli Flyer is a conceptual-built structure designed to convert an urban area into a natural ecosystem. Ideated to be placed in desolated lands, with little to non-existent natural populations, such as some places in the UAE. Its main features are changing ecosystems, a sense of community, moisture content ( provided by a Water harvesting System from the air), and a periodic change of food and water.

How did we design it?

The functional process is simple: build PoliFlyer in the desired area and it will start by harvesting water from the hot air of the UAE, >> then it will start growing and nurturing plants that were initially incorporated with the structure, >> birds will be attracted to PoliFlyer, >> while feeding on plants and insects, birds will unconsciously start pollinating,>> in a matter of months, PoliFlyer is expected to have started the first ecosystem.
