The furniture industry's linear production process generates massive waste, prompting a need for sustainability. The question is: How can we shift to a circular and sustainable production practice? This capstone project addresses this by exploring organic waste-derived materials to break free from environmentally harmful methods.
Idea
"Emergent Materiality" seeks to revolutionize furniture production by replacing conventional materials with innovative alternatives from organic waste. The goal is to minimize environmental impact, reduce resource extraction, and redefine the industry's cycle for a more environmentally friendly and socially responsible approach.
