In early February 2024, I had the incredible opportunity to join a group of fellow students and alumni from the Dubai Institute of Design & Innovation for a transformative two-week research residency at the Queensland University of Technology's Creative Industries Precinct in Brisbane. Immersed in a dynamic environment, we delved into a multitude of design realms, from exploring Design for Health and prosthetics to engaging with robotics and additive manufacturing.During the residency, we had the privilege of visiting industry hubs like the ARMHub and BMW+QUT design academy, where we gained invaluable insights into real-world developments and career pathways within the design field. Conversations with experienced professionals further illuminated the future of design and the vast opportunities that lie ahead.
